Carlo Salvi S.p.A. production range includes: 1-die 2-blow headers, 2-die 4-blow headers and up to 6 dies parts formers. The major fields of application are: aeronautical, automotive and electronic. Our machines are especially developed for the cold, and now for the semi hot forming of screw-blanks, screws and rivets, solid, semi and fully tubular parts, with extremely complex shapes. To handle material like titanium and super alloys, which can not be formed with the cold heading system, the headers can be equipped with a pre-heating system. The customer can decide to install on some specific models of Carlo Salvi headers the heating system with coil housed on the die holder, or the resin-bonded inductor positioned into the bedframe. In the event of special production needs, it is possible to evaluate also to install both kind of inductors. At the forthcoming wire 2016, Carlo Salvi will exhibit the header model 246 E WS complete with heating system: this machine is able to handle wire diameters from 2 to 6.50 mm. Here below are the main features of the header model 246 E WS: min and max wire diameter 2 to 6.50 mm (warm heading) and 2 to 8 mm (cold heading (60 Kg/mm2)); max shank length 60 mm (warm heading) and 60mm (cold heading (60 Kg/mm2)); max head diameter 16 mm (warm heading) and 16 mm (cold heading (60 Kg/mm2)); max cutting tonnage daN 3000 (warm heading) and daN 3000 (cold heading (60 Kg/mm2)); max heading tonnage daN 26,000 (warm heading) and daN 26,000 (cold heading (60 Kg/mm2)); and stroke of PKOs 12 mm (warm heading and 12 mm (cold heading (60 Kg/mm2)). The 2-die 4-blow series are particularly suitable for components whose heads have a very large volume or parts where two dies are sufficient but at least three blows are needed, such as fo allen screws, trimmed components, etc. A great advantage of these machines is the third blow can very often be used as an introduction punch if parts with large heads and a very short shank have to be transferred.
