US electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla announced that it will build a factory in Shanghai, China. Memorandum of understanding on the issue was signed on Tuesday. The day before, the German petrochemical firm BASF reached an agreement with the Chinese government to establish a $10 billion petrochemical plant in Guangdong. The agreements take place at a time when China is having a trade war with the US and softening the conditions for investments of international firms.
